Rice is a widespread food. The amino acid profile of Rice bran shows that aspartic and glutamic acid are the amino acids in higher concentration. In addition, it is a good source of thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2) and niacin (vitamin B3) but also antioxidants. Rice bran contains a large percentage of fiber as well as calcium, magnesium, zinc and phosphorus. Studies have shown that eating whole grains is associated with reduced obesity and maintaining a normal weight. Increased consumption of rice bran as a whole grain food is associated with a reduced risk of developing hypertension but stroke, due to the association of elevated blood pressure with stroke.
